Tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou opined that World No. 2 Carlos Alacaraz has been playing impressive tennis, but still, he has not reached the top. The French coach considers Novak Djokovic the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) because he arrived at a time when Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal were ruling the sport, but despite that, the Serb came and beat them both to reach the top spot.
“The best player in the world is the world no. 1, and it’s Novak Djokovic,” he said in a video uploaded on his Instagram. “He is not able to play a lot of tournaments for non-vaccinated reasons, and he’s still technically no.1.”
Djokovic claimed his 22 Grand Slam trophy when he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final of the 2024 Australian Open. However, his not participating at the Indian Wells and Miami Open due to his unvaccinated status saw Alcaraz reclaim the top spot when he defeated Daniil Medvedev in the Indian Wells final. “Novak will be probably the GOAT,” Mouratoglou opined. “He’s a guy who’s winning Grand Slams for 15 years. He arrived at a time that Rafa and Roger were winning absolutely everything, and he was able to arrive, beat both of them, and become No.1.”
And about Carlos Alcaraz, Mouratoglou said the teenager is more impressive than Novak in terms of the tennis he plays because he has so much power and he is explosive physically. “I understand that people already want to put Carlos on top of him, but he’s not there yet,” concluded Serena Williams‘ former coach. Novak Djokovic makes fun of Carlos Gomez-Herrera in Monte Carlo
After missing the season’s first two 1000 Masters tournaments, Novak Djokovic has been preparing for the Monte Carlos Masters which is set to start on April 8. During one of his training sessions, he and his team could be seen having some fun with Spanish player Carlos Gomez-Herrera.
Djokovic’s physiotherapist Claudio Zimaglia shared a video on his social media where the Serb’s team can be seen pulling Gomez-Herrera’s leg. Djokovic started the video by saying: “Introduction of Carlos Gomez-Herrera in reality.”

Gomez-Herrera and Djokovic have been friends for around 15 years now. They have also teamed up in a couple of tournaments.
