“I’m not no vax,” Novak Djokovic expresses disappointment over “totally false” reports on his vaccination stance in the media

Djokovic revealed how the BBC eliminated sentences from his interview that were not convenient to their story.

Novak Djokovic, apart from his game, has garnered attention from all over the world when he expressed his decision to stay unvaccinated against Covid-19. Due to his stance, he has missed quite a few important tennis events, Australian Open and the US Open.

He had received an exemption to participate in the 2022 Australian Open but it was challenged by the Australian government due to its strict protocol and eventually the Serb was deported from the country.

After the third-round win over Grigor Dimitrov, Djokovic opened up about his disappointment over ‘false’ reports spread by the media and by his colleagues. The 35-year-old claimed that he is not against vaccination; that it is about the choice of whether one wants to get vaccinated or not. “I suffered everything on my skin. Many people have appreciated that I have remained consistent. 95 percent of what has been written and said on TV about me in the last three years is totally false. I’m not no vax and I’ve never said I was in my life. I’m not even pro-vax. I am pro-choice. I defend freedom of choice,” he said in an interview with Italian publication Corriere della Sera.

Djokovic revealed how the BBC eliminated sentences from his interview that were not convenient to their story.

“I explained it once to the BCC but they eliminated many sentences, the ones that weren’t convenient. So I never spoke of this story again. I was disappointed by the media and by many colleagues,” he added. Also Read: Iga Swiatek Vs Donna Vekic Match Prediction, Head-To-Head, Preview, And Live Stream | Italian Open
