Carlos Alcaraz vs Alexander Zverev Match prediction, head-to-head, preview, and live stream | Madrid Open

Carlos Alcaraz vs Alexander Zverev: World No.2 Carlos Alacarz’s match in the fourth round of the 2024 Madrid Open will be against 13th-seeded Alexander Zverev on Tuesday (May 2).

Alcaraz sunk Grigor Dimitrov 6-2, 7-5 in the previous round and before that, he outclassed Emil Ruusuvuori. Before Madrid, the 19-year-old lifted his first clay title, in Barcelona last week by beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final. The Spaniard also clinched his first 1000 Masters title in Indian Wells but couldn’t complete a rare Sunshine Double. He started this year with a successful Argentina Open campaign and went on to win the aforementioned titles in Indian Wells and Barcelona. Also Read: “She’s More Soft-Spoken. Zverev, on the other hand, reached the stage by knocking out Roberto Carballes Baena and Hugo Grenier in the second and third rounds respectively. After remaining out of court for a long time last year, the German faced an early exit at the Australian Open and went on to lose in the tournaments he played without reaching the final in any of those and is searching for his first title.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Alexander Zverev Prediction

Alcaraz has been in sublime form these days and has already lifted a title on the European clay. Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal’s absence in the tournament makes the teenager a favorite to lift the title.

He is super aggressive when it comes to attack, where he combines his physical power and speed but has the ability to stay calm and bring his defensive game when the need arises. He has developed a great deal of skills at the age of 19, be it his baseline attacks, his violent shots, and his ability to smash brilliant drop shots.

Zverev, on the other hand, has often produced brilliant defense against aggressive opponents. He has a powerful serve and is an aggressive baseliner, and has piercing groundstrokes.

But Alcaraz’s scintillating matches on clay and his recent red-hot form will give him an upper hand over the German. But as Alcaraz has lost thrice in their previous encounters, the match certainly is going to be a high-voltage one.

Prediction: Alcaraz in three sets.
