The 2022 ATP Umag Open semifinal on Saturday will feature top seed Carlos Alcaraz taking on Giulio Zeppieri of Italy. Read below for Carlos Alcaraz vs Giulio Zeppieri Prediction, Head-to-Head, Preview, Betting Tips and Live Stream.
In July of last year, Carlos Alcaraz defeated seasoned Richard Gasquet in the final in straight sets to claim the title of 2021 Umag champion. In one year, Carlos Alacaraz will be ranked fifth in the world and will already have won two Masters tournaments, including a very remarkable clay Madrid Masters victory.
Over the past six months, the Spanish wonderkid has made headlines throughout the world in tennis. He is known as a player of extraordinary talent and the tennis game’s future face.
One of the numerous young Italian athletes created a name for himself by winning five straight games. Giulio Zeppieri.
The Italian overcame a challenging qualifying draw and defeated both opponents in three sets despite lost the opening set in each match. In the opening round, he ran into Pedro Cachin and lost the opening set once more.
Zeppieri beat Cachin despite being a huge underdog by playing tennis that was incredibly appealing. Later, he defeated Bernabé Zapata Miralles in the quarterfinal and Daniel Elahi Galan in the second round.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Giulio Zeppieri Prediction
In all honesty, I don’t think anyone anticipated Zeppieri making it to the semifinals, much less the quarterfinals. Prior to a shocking victory over Zapata Miralles in straight sets in the quarterfinals, the Italian, who entered the qualifying event below the top 150 in the world, had lost three straight matches but had amazingly won four straight matches, all in the last set.
But this is more like a tower than just one step above anybody he has encountered so far. After a lacklustre showing in the Hamburg final last weekend, Alcaraz has played well in his first two matches, rarely dropping any games. Without a major surprise from the Spaniard, it’s difficult to see how the 20-year-old can remain this competitive.
Prediction: Carlos Alcaraz in 2.
