The first seeded Auger Aliassime, the World no. 10 will face Spaniard Carlos Taberner on Thursday in the Round of 16 of Estoril Open. All eyes are over Auger in Estoril as the 21-year-old is looking for his second title of the year as well as career.
Felix Auger-Aliassime, the current World no. 10 did play great tennis this year. Earlier this year Auger achieved his first career title beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the finals of the Rotterdam Open. He gave an equal contribution to the Canadian team in winning the ATP Cup 2022. Auger could not play well enough in the Indian Wells Masters as well as the Miami Open. Still, the hopes are high for the young Canadian in Estoril Open 2022.
Carlos Taberner is struggling to find his way to win more matches. Carlos never entered any finals of his career but made it to the quarterfinals of the Challenger Open. He played the best match of his career by defeating Sebastian Korda in Barcelona Open but eventually lost to Auger Aliassime in the R16. Even though Taberner lost his qualifier match in Estoril, he however made to the rounds resulting a win over Lloyd Harris in straight sets.
