India’s Avni Lekhara won the gold medal in the Para Shooting World Cup in women’s 10m air rifle standing SH1 in France on Tuesday. The Tokyo Olympics Champion once again qualified for the Paris Olympic 2024. The 20-year-old gained this achievement by breaking her own world record of 249.6.

Poland’s Emilia Babska (247.6) and Sweden’s Anna Normann(225.6) bagged Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
Lekhara made his win after her coach and escort were denied visas. But the problem was resolved timely by the Sports Ministry.
After winning her Olympic gold medal, Lekhara shared her happiness with the whole world in Twitter.
In the Tokyo Olympics, Avni Lekhara has won a gold and bronze medal in the 10m air rifle standing event in the SH1 category and in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions SH1 event successively. She also holds the record of the first Indian woman to win multiple medals at the Paralympics.
