Florida Panthers‘ affiliates Florida Everblades are heading to the finals of ECHL. The two-time champions will be taking on Bruce Taylor Cup (ECHL Western Conference Champions) winners Idaho Steelheads in the finals.
The good news follows the Game 6 Overtime victory over the Newfoundland Growlers in the Conference Finals. After giving the Growlers a 2-1 lead, The Everblades won three straight games to move to their second-straight Kelly Cup Finals. Earlier today, John McCarron netted a goal in the double Overtime to seal the Eastern Conference title, the Bud Gingher Memorial Trophy. The Everblades are making their sixth Kelly Cup Final appearance, tying the record for most final appearances.
The Everblades qualified to the Kelly Cup Playoffs as a wildcard entry from the South Division of Eastern Conference. They had 85 points (38-25-4) from 72 games in the regular season. The Everblades defeated South Carolina Stingrays in the Division Semifinals. And eliminated Jacksonville Icemen in the Division Finals to head to the conference finals.
Institutionalized in 1998, The Florida Everblades are a professional minor league team based in Estero, Florida. The Everblades are affiliated with Florida Panthers (NHL) and Charlotte Checkers (AHL) and play in the ECHL. They have won the ECHL two times, 2011-12 and 2021-22. Furthermore, the team has managed to qualify for the Playoffs in every season except the 2013-14 season. Also Read: Why is the logo of Seattle Kraken one of the best in the NHL?
