The National Hockey League started this year in style: The Elvis Golden Knights, The Fish Tunnel. The 31st and 32nd teams battled it out in T-Mobile Park as Joey Daccord Shutout sealed a scintillating victory for the Kraken.
The Kraken scored 3, one in each period. Joey Daccord saved 35 shots, marking his first-ever shutout. Post game, Daccord noted this as “the coolest thing in the world.” Joey Daccord also recorded NHL Winter Classic’s first shutout as well as the first Cocoa Cup.

Which all goaltenders are recorded shutouts in the NHL Outdoor Games other than Joey Daccord?
Kipper aka Miika Kiprusoff secured NHL’s first outdoor shutout after he saved 39 shots for the Flames against the Canadians. Flames won the game 4-0 at McMahon Stadium, Alberta.
In 2014, Jonas Hiller made 36 saves for Ducks. In the NHL Stadium Series against the LA Kings, Anaheim Ducks won 3-0. Hiller is the first non-Vezina winner to secure an outdoor shut out in NHL.
Cam Talbot became the third goaltender to score an outdoor shutout. Playing for Oilers in the NHL Heritage Classic 2016, Talbot saved 31 to shut out the Jets 3-0.
The fourth outdoor NHL shutout came in 2017 when Craig Anderson made 28 saves to secure a win for Sens against Canadians in the NHL 100 Classic.
Joey Daccord is the fifth, marking the fifth in history.
