With a thrilling 133-130 victory, James Harden and Joel Embiid end the Bucks’ 16-game-winning run

Harden finished with 38 points to Embiid's 31. Each of the 76ers' top players had 10 assists.

The Milwaukee Bucks’ winning streak couldn’t continue indefinitely. The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Bucks, 133-130, on Saturday night at Fiserv Forum in a nationally broadcast matchup between Eastern Conference heavyweights. This stopped the Bucks’ 16-game-winning run. With a late deep 3-pointer of his own to trim the Sixers’ deficit to one point, James Harden finished with 38 points to Embiid’s 31. Each of the 76ers’ top players had 10 assists.

It was the third-longest winning streak in franchise history, behind only the 18 straight victories by the 2019–20 squad and the 1970–71 team’s 20-game winning streak. Joel Embiid’s game-winning 3-pointer in the last minute helped the 76ers come back from a 99-85 deficit in the fourth quarter.

Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey were ecstatic about the “huge win” as they made their way to the locker room following the significant road victory.

Embiid exclaimed, “Great friggin’ win,” with a beaming grin on his face. The All-Star center for Philadelphia, who is also a candidate for the game’s MVP, finished with 31 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds.

“Great win on the road,” remarked Maxey, who added 26 points of his own on an incredibly effective 8 of 12 field goal attempts. Also Read: Milwaukee Bucks vs Philadelphia 76ers Final Injury Report date – 4/03/2023: Is Giannis Antetokounmpo Playing against Philadelphia 76ers Tonight?

Harden and Embiid ended the Bucks’ 16-game winning streak

Joel Embiid, James Harden, and the Philadelphia 76ers successfully recovered against the Milwaukee Bucks despite recently losing to the Dallas Mavericks, giving fans new confidence that they can contend for the NBA championship. The Sixers not only snapped the 16-game winning streak of the Bucks, but they also overcame an 18-point deficit to win 133-130. It appeared as though Philly would lose by a huge margin, but Embiid and Harden wouldn’t allow their team loses without a fight.

In addition, Harden made five three-pointers, had nine rebounds, 10 assists, and a perfect 11-of-11 free throw shooting percentage.

Tyrese Maxey chipped in with 26 points, and Joel Embiid added 31 points, six rebounds, and 10 assists. This was the first time since 1965 that teammates from Philadelphia had both registered 30-plus points and 10-plus assists in the same game.

With only 1:21 left in the game, Harden sank a huge straight-on triple with the shot clock running out to bring Philadelphia within a point at 124-125 and quiet the home crowd.

James Harden Putting on a virtuoso performance against the bucks

But James Harden classic performance was what made Philadelphia the winner. The Beard had 38 points, which was the most among all scorers, and added 10 assists and 9 rebounds. He shot 11 of 26 from the field and made all 11 of his free throw tries.

Harden put on a strong all-around performance, dishing out 10 assists and grabbing 9 rebounds.

He was just James Harden, Embiid said of his teammate. “James was tremendous, big shot after big shot. He led the comeback,” he said.

After what was perhaps the strongest offensive performance from the pair since their time together at Philadelphia, Harden paid respect to Embiid.

With their victory over Milwaukee, the Sixers raised their record to 41-22, reducing the distance between them and Milwaukee in the Eastern Conference to only four games.

The Bucks have not suffered a defeat since they were upset by the Cavs on January 21.

Giannis Antetokounmpo contributed 34 points and 13 rebounds in the defeat, but he also committed seven turnovers.

With one game remaining on April 2, the 76ers now lead the season series versus the Bucks 2-1. The excitement of Embiid and Maxey is more than understandable because they defeated the hot Bucks, something no other team has been able to do for 40 days.
