“Luka Doncic is the most dangerous player in the Western Conference!” says Kendrick Perkins

Players like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ja Morant, and Shai Gilgeous Alexander often come into the mix when talking about the future of the NBA. Similarly, Slovenian basketball player Luka Doncic is one of them.

Doncic is only 24 and has made five NBA All-Star and four All-NBA First-Team appearances. Moreover, he recently joined the elite list of players to score more than 70 points in a game. He is not a star in the making, but the future of basketball.

Looking at him, ESPN analyst and former NBA player Kendrick Perkins released a statement.

Kendrick Perkins said:

“Luka Doncic is the most dangerous player in the Western Conference. He is LeBron James minus the athleticism.”

Undoubtedly, Luka Doncic has been a beast in the game since his debut. He is only 24 and has made five NBA All-Star and four All-NBA First-Team appearances. He is turning out to be the face of the league.

A few weeks ago, the Dallas Mavericks coach, Jason Kidd, said:

“Luka Doncic is better than Dirk Nowitzki. He is in the atmosphere of Michael Jordan, the best to ever do it, Lebron James, and Kobe Bryant.”

But is Luka Doncic that dangerous?

Doncic was the third pick overall in the 2018 NBA draft and was selected by the Atlanta Hawks. Due to a draft pick deal between the Hawks and Mavericks, he was traded to the Mavericks.

From his first game of the season to the present, he has always started. Moreover, his stats over the seasons have hit the elite mark since his rookie season.

Doncic is the star and has helped them reach the playoffs in three seasons. He also helped them win their fourth-ever division title in franchise history. This is the only team title in his NBA career so far. But when it comes to individual achievements, he has been a beast.

He has made one NBA All-Rookie, four All-NBA First Team appearances, and five NBA All-Star appearances. He was also the 2019 NBA Rookie of the Year, with impressive stats of 21.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.

Since then, the numbers have jumped significantly. This season he is averaging 34.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, 9.6 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Undoubtedly, he is dangerous and a beast in the league.
