Amsterdam: Max Verstappen is appointed “Officer in Order of Orange-Nassau” amid the Dutch Grand Prix. Max, who is the first-ever Dutch Formula One Champion is also the leader of the ongoing season ahead of Monegasque Charles Leclerc. The Formula One team is currently in Zandvoort for the 15th round of 2022-23 Championship after an eventful Belgian GP.

The Sport Minister of The Netherlands Conny Helder presented the award to Max Verstappen in the presence of his close ones. Helder appreciated the racer as she remarked that it takes more than talent to become a champion. She added that Max pushed himself forward with hard work and perseverance. Additionally, She applauded Verstappen for putting The Netherlands on the map.
Max Verstappen gracefully accepted the award as he thanked his family, friends, the Orange Army, Red Bull and his Sponsors. “Being appointed an Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau is an incredibly proud moment for me and came very unexpected for me so early in my career. I want to thank my family and loved ones, but also Red Bull who have been like a second family to me. We achieved this together.” Additionally, Max tweeted about the same in his Official Twitter account.
Queen Regent Emma established the Order of Orange-Nassau in 4th April 1892 to honor the civil and military contributions. The Order establishes a six-class hierarchy: Knight Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight. However, The sixth class recipients just become members of the Order.
