Influenced by a New yorker friend, Lewis shifted his diet plan to become a complete vegan in 2017. Doctors and Nutritionists advised Lewis not to go vegan as they could not be cent percent sure about the consequences. Lewis being a firm believer in defying the odds did not lend an ear to all those who advised him against the vegan diet. He proved his might by winning five of his seven titles after shifting his diet plan.

Additionally, the recently knighted Sir Lewis said that his only regret is not becoming vegan earlier.
