How has Haas F1 Team fared so far and How is it looking this year?

Haas had their best season in 2018 where the team finished fifth. Grosjean and Kevin won multiple points on several occasions.

Haas F1 Team or the Haas Formula LLC is an American constructor. Gene Haas established the new team in April 2014. The team is based at the City of Kannapolis in North Carolina. Additionally, they have a European base at Banbury in England to help them in the European races.

In 2016, they became the first American outfit to participate in Formula One since Haas Lola. Haas Lola is a totally unrelated F1 team who matched in 1985 and 1986 seasons. They joined the season in 2016 after postponing their 2015 entry.

2016 Formula One World Championship

Haas started in the formula one in the Haas V16. Frenchman Romain Grosjean and Mexican Esteban Gutierrez were their inaugural drivers.

They debuted in the first race of the season, Australian Grand Prix. Romain Grosjean ended up at the sixth position on the grid. In doing so, Haas became the first constructor since 2002 to pick up points on their debut race. On the other hand, Esteban crashed out.

Grosjean triumphed the previous result by ending at P5 in the following Bahrain Grand Prix. Esteban did not finish in the next race as well. After two races, they had eighteen points. However, they had no spectacular races after that.

Grosjean got another 11 points and the team finished eighth at the Constructors’ Championship.

Grosjean-Magnussen Era (2017-2020)

After the poor form in 2016, Danish driver Kevin Magnussen replaced the Mexican Gutierrez. In 2017, Haas had an exceptional season. The team scored 55 points in the season, although they finished at eighth. Kevin and Grosjean scored multiple points on two occasions, Monaco and Japan Grand Prix

Haas had their best season in 2018 where the team finished fifth. Grosjean and Kevin won multiple points on several occasions. Grosjean came close to a podium by finishing at P4 in Austria. Kevin finished P5 on two occasions. The total points was 93.

However, the team skyrocketed down afterwards. They fell form 93 in 2018 to a low 28 next season. The duo went further down in 2020 when they finished with just three points. that season also saw Romain going through one of the worst accidents in Formula One history. He stopped racing afterwards

Haas F1 Team: Zero Point Season

Both Grosjean and Magnussen left the team after the 2020 season. Russian Nikita Mazepin and German Mick Schumacher replaced them in the season. The team in order to survive financially did not much of modifications and stored them for 2022. The season marked the worst performance of the team. Both of the drivers never finished above P10 and they ended the season with zero points.

Kevin Comes Back: 2022 F1 World Championship

Nikita Mazepin was asked to pull out after the Russian Invasion of Ukraine. Kevin came back after a hiatus to join the team. In the first race itself at Bahrain, Magnussen earned his first points by finishing at P5. He continued the breach into championship pints by finishing P9 at Saudi and P8 at Imola. After five races, they are currently at the eighth position with fifteen points

Haas is looking forward to earn as much as points at the next race at Barcelona. They will be looking for Mick to perform better. He will be trying to live up to the legacy of his champion dad Micheal Schumacher. Kevin will try for his second and the team’s first podium. This season is looking good for the American side.
