UFC 298 was the mega-box event of the season. Ilia Topuria defeated Alexander Volkanovski to become the new UFC featherweight champion. Rinya Nakamura and Danny Barlow continued their unbeaten streak. Similarly, Merab Dvalishvili won his fight against Henry Cejudo.
Dvalishvili defeated Henry Cejudo by decision to keep his 10-match winning streak alive. He has been undefeated in the UFC since 2019 and is one of the top contenders for the championship fight. Before UFC talks about his next challenge, Dvalishvili picks the opponent he wants to face.
Merab Dvalishvili said:
“I want to fight Sean O’Malley. I want to take his belt (UFC Bantamweight Championship) and his white jacket.”

As mentioned, Dvalishvili has fought ten fights since 2019 and has an unbeaten streak. He is currently the No. 1 ranked fighter in the UFC bantamweight division. He stands first for the bantamweight title opportunity.
On the other hand, Sean O’Malley will defend his title at UFC 299 against Marlon Vera. Maybe after that, we will see either one of the champs, O’Malley or Vera, fight Dvalishvili for the UFC bantamweight championship fight.
