The MMA Universe got its new UFC middleweight champion in UFC 297 as Dricus du Plessis defeated Sean Strickland to win the title. He won the title fight by split decision and began his title reign at the UFC. It has been months now, and Du Plessis is yet to get his next fight.
There have been debates about who should be Du Plessis’s next opponent. Some believe Sean Strickland should get a rematch, few say Robert Whittaker should get an opportunity, and many more statements. Among all these dramas, Dricus du Plessis openly challenges two of his possible opponents.

Many, including Dana White, believed that Sean Strickland had defended his title that night. During the UFC 297 Post-Fight Conference, Dana White said:
“I had it 2-2 going into the last round, and I thought Sean Strickland won the last round. It was a close fight.”
Even Sean Strickland, after the fight, said:
“I won that fight; the world knows I won the fight! The only reason he took a round from me is because I couldn’t see.”
On the other hand, Israel Adesanya has been a hot topic for years. Even after his retirement, he has been in the minds of champions like Dricus and Alex Pereira.
We don’t know when Israel Adesanya will come out of his break. Mostly, it is Sean Strickland whom Dricus will be facing in his next title fight.
