Thomas Tuchel’s time at Bayern has been everything except what was expected. A 4-2 in Der Klassiker was supposed to set the tone for what was to come but it’s been only downhill for the Bavarians since then. Bayern’s inconsistency has only brought good fortunes for Dortmund though, who despite their lackluster form as of late, found themselves first in the table again after a thumping 4-0 win over Frankfurt. Bayern on the other hand, suffered another defeat to Mainz on the weekend which really makes you questions Tuchel’s credentials in the short term.
Dropping points in a must-win game against Stuttgart last week, Dortmund were handed another lifeline with a mediocre Bayern performance to thank for it. Dortmund’s title challenge very well rests on the shoulders of its youth talents again. Karim Adeyemi’s physicality and pace have time and again enthralled everyone around him. The same went down against Frankfurt as he was responsible for creating the chances for both of Donyell Malen’s goals. His link-up with Malen has been nothing short of exceptional for Dortmund. Malen has rejuvenated his career in the second half of this season under.
With the title more in their grasp than ever, it finally comes down to Dortmund’s mentality as they step into the final stages of the competition. Edin Terzic will look to finally put an end to the inconsistency that has plagued Dortmund throughout the last decade since Jurgen Klopp left. Dortmund is showcasing a fire that has been missing for a while, especially under Marco Rose and Terzic deserves full credit for turning their fortunes around. The next 5 weeks are sure to be the most exciting Bundesliga football we’ve had in a long time. Also read:The Premier League Title Race, The Battle Between Arsenal and Manchester City is on
