Manchester United and Crystal Palace Fined by the FA for failing to control players

For grabbing Will Hughes during a crowd brawl in the second half, United midfielder Casemiro received a red card. The incident started when United winger Antony was shoved into touch by Palace midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp, and both players received yellow cards. A Football Association spokesperson said: “Manchester United and Crystal Palace respectively accepted and denied that they failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and refrained from provocative behaviour.

“An independent regulatory commission subsequently found the charge against Crystal Palace proven and imposed both the clubs’ fines.”

After Will Hughes was penalised for handball and Bruno Fernandes scored from the spot, United appeared to be coasting until Rashford headed in Luke Shaw’s cross 17 minutes into the second half for his eleventh goal since arriving from Qatar.
