The Bengals’ quarterback, Joe Burrow, becomes the highest-paid player in NFL history. He signed an extension contract worth $275 million for five years with the team. Earlier, it was Justin Hubert who signed a contract worth $262.5 million with the Los Angeles Chargers.
He was the first pick overall in the 2020 NFL Draft and was picked up by the Cincinnati Bengals. The player had signed a four-year entry-level contract worth $36 million with them. Moreover, he had two more years of his contract left with the team and was offered an extension.
Well, after the 2024 season, his extension contract will be active, and his average salary is estimated to be around $55 million. The contract has a total guaranteed amount of $219 million and will expire in 2029.
