The Tiger of Tennis, Aryna Sabalenka, is the new WTA World No. 1 player. Her consistent performance across tennis tours around the world has enabled her to achieve the milestone. She has now surpassed Iga Swiatek in the WTA rankings and would love to continue her reign as the WTA’s No. 1 player. She is also the eighth player in WTA history to hold both the singles and doubles No. 1 spots.
So far in 2024, Sabalenka has competed in a total of 60 matches and has won 50 of them. She has a win percentage of 83% and has only lost 10 matches. Sabalenka won three titles this year, including the Australian Open. Her performances at the Grand Slam tournament have been amazing. She won the Australian Open, played semi-finals at the French Open and Wimbledon, and reached the final of the US Open.

Players who rank in the No. 1 spot as per the WTA Singles Rankings lift the Chris Evert Trophy. Players like Iga Swiatek, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Naomi Osaka, and many others have lifted the trophy. Currently, Aryna Sabalenka is the 29th player in women’s history to lift the trophy.
