The tournament has been held every year since its inception in 1904, except for periods during World War I, World War II, and the COVID-19 pandemic. With a history spanning 119 years, it is the third longest-running competition on the tour, following The Open Championship and the U.S. Open. Canadian golfer Nick Taylor won the 2023 edition of the tournament and is the current champion, meanwhile English golfer Tommy Fleetwood finished the tournament as the runner-up. In his historic win at the Canadian Open, golfer Nick Taylor won a whopping $1.6 million and 500 FedEx Points. His counterpart, Tommy Fleetwood, who finished second received $981k and 300 FedEx Points as his prize money. Has Nick Taylor ever won on the PGA?

In his career spanning over 13 years, Taylor has three professional win. Coincidentally all of his three wins came on the PGA Tour. He won the Sanderson Farms Championship by the margin of 2 strokes in 2014. After a gap of six years, he won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2020 by 4 strokes. Just after winning the Canadian Open, Nick Taylor participated in the US Open. But, unfortunately he missed the cut. It has been a roller coaster ride for him. After shooting back-to-back two-over 72s to miss the cut at Los Angeles Country Club. He received a great reception and congratulatory hand shakes in Los Angeles.
