Monza: Aided by the Safety Car in the penultimate laps, Dutch racer Max Verstappen cruised past the chequered flag to win the Italian Grand Prix 2022. Max, who is now on his 5th consecutive win, came from P7 into the podium at Monza. Importantly, Max Verstappen is now capable of lifting the World Championship in the very next race.

Max Verstappen has never completed a podium in Monza before. He conquered his maiden podium finish by winning the race. The Dutch champion registered his 31st career win while Monegasque Charles Leclerc finished behind him. Russell trailed Leclerc to complete the Italian Grand Prix 2022 podium. Max Verstappen leads the drivers’ table by 116 points while Leclerc is 9 points ahead of Perez in second. In the constructors’ table, Red Bull is first with 546 points and Ferrari is second with 401 points.
Nyck de Vries who started in for Williams’ Alex Albon became the Driver of the Day. He grabbed three points for Williams Racing, thereby effectively pushing his teammate Latifi into the 21st position. The Dutch racer who has previously been crowned champion in F2 and Formula E is on to a magnanimous start. With several grid positions still vacant for the next season, De Vries registered himself as a key prospect.
Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton made key strides and skimmed past several cars as they ensured top-five finishes. Sainz finished P4 while Lewis Hamilton followed him in P5. Sergio Perez finished behind Lewis while ensuring n extra point for the fastest lap in the race. However, Aston Martin found itself crushed under two DNF with Sebastian unable to finish his final race in Europe. In addition to Seb and Stroll, Alonso and Ricciardo also could not make it to the end. Ricciardo follows the Monza curse where the previous champion crashes out on the next year Monza.
