Chelsea is Ready For a Club Clear Out, Aubameyang and Ziyech Makes the List

Todd Boehly has gifted Chelsea fans a transfer window to remember. But now its time to bid some names a last goodbye.

The 22/23 season was a season of changes for Chelsea. The London club was taken over by a group of American owners with Todd Boehly having the majority stake in the club. Todd Boehly made some statement signings this season bidding astronomical fees for practically anyone. As a result, they now have a 33-man squad.

According to reports, Chelsea are planning on reducing their squad size substantially. Their manager, Graham Potter recently said in an interview that he’s having a hard time managing such a huge squad. This is impacting their performance as they are currently sitting in 10th place in the Premier League.

The players who are most likely to leave the club include the former Arsenal captain Aubameyang, Conor Gallagher, Hakim Ziyech, Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, Edouard Mendy and the veteran Mateo Kovacic..

Aubameyang was brought in from Barca in hopes of strengthening the attack. However, he’s had a disappointing season with the Blues. Not included in the Champions League squad and seen celebrating in the Barca dressing room after the El Clasico, Auba has practically said his goodbyes to the team.

Ziyech was set to join Paris St. Germain in the winter transfer window. However, the transfer was blocked after reports confirmed that Chelsea were late in sending the documents to Paris.

The contracts of Mount, Mendy, and Kovacic are set to expire.  Reports suggest contract extension talks with both Mount and Mendy have broken down. Chelsea are yet to open contract renewal talks with Kovacic whose current deal has 16 months to go.
