In the last decade, the Indian football team had not made the headway everyone predicted when MNCs started investing in it. 

However, ISL has been a real help, and the platform attracted some Big Brands who furnished the Indian Football Team with professionalism. City Football Groups (CFG)  took over city clubs like Mumbai City FC and big companies like JSW and TATA invested in Bengaluru FC and Jamshedpur FC which boosted the ISL growth in the top leagues of India and replaced the I-league.  

Indian Football Team Sponsors worked as beneficial for Indian Football’s future and still do their best, which will surely give a needed push. So today we will talk about some companies or brands who sponsored the team and helped and still helping them to grow.

5. Puma

Puma has been the official ball partner for ISL and a provider of warm-up and training balls. 

It was September 30, 2014, when there was only a week left for the first season of ISL to kick off and Puma became the official ball partner. 

A few years back Puma also signed a three-year contract with the most capped player “Sunil Chetri” 

He also said

“We share a common goal to accelerate the growth of football in the country. I appreciate their commitment to the sporting ecosystem and look forward to creating a new chapter for Indian Football,” he added.

They also introduced two exterior factors. The first one implies a dead ball situation where they will provide balls that will have greater swerve or deviation on play and the second is the dimple technology for increased aerodynamics which will cause the air to move faster at the top pf the ball, creating lower pressure there. 

4. The Odisha government

The Odisha government is the official partner of AIFF and therefore they played an appreciable role where they provide funds for the making of the infrastructure which includes top-notch stadiums, practice facilities, and residential complexes to back and support our athletes and sportspersons. 

In 2018, the Odisha government also donated 5 crores in a sponsorship contract with AIFF to create a better and younger team under AIFF. 

FIFA U17 has started and this time India is the host of this edition. The Indian Arrows team, sponsored by the government of Odisha, and the U17 National Team where Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has launched the “Football for All” program, which aims to promote the sport in the state.

3. Football Sports Development Limited

Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) is a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited and AIFF’s commercial partner. 

They are also the organizer of ISL and the interesting facts are on December 9, 2010, they formed a contract of 700 Crore with Reliance Industries and the international group to build a new professional League that will make huge growth and boosts the Indian Football future. 

Therefore on October 2013, ISL Launched and not forgetting the name of Star-Sports which was also the contract partner. 

In 2020, ISL made an agreement with Premier League, and both collaborated to share knowledge and expertise in all areas of football. Including Talent expansion, governance, commercial growth, administration, and wider community development.

2. Six5six

Six5six is an Indian official kit partner. They are an Indian-based Textile manufacturer who, manufactuer Gurgaon-based sportswear. They replaced Nike by starting with the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. Nike was the previous Kit partner but they failed to provide any money to AIFF.

Since 2019, They sponsored Kerela Blasters and entered the Indian Market. Their agreement was worth 1.5 to 2 crore per annum. 

On January 10, 2021, along with AIFF, the Six5six launched a new official kit for both men’s, women’s senior, and junior teams. It is branded as the “Panthera Tigris” and will continue to mark Tiger Stripes, which shows the status of the “ Blue Tiger” National Team.

1.  Hero Motocorp

Hero MotoCorp is an ISL title sponsor since July 18, 2014. It’s the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer that has done a lot to the Indian Football progress cycle. They developed playgrounds with good quality grass cover so that our players can dive and tackle without any fear of injuries. 

The contract was worth between $23 and $25 million. 

They also supported and took initiative on sports medicine specialists who can treat our players with injuries. The training of referees and all the on-filed needs are taken by them.
