Zagreb: Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb stunned 2020/21 champions Chelsea 1-0 at their home stadium. The English side went down to the group as Zagreb cemented itself in the first place. The winning goal came from Mislav Orsic in the 13th minute of the match.

Orsic cruised with the ball flicked on by teammate Petkovic into the danger zone. Kepa attempted in saving the goal but the ball bobbled into the net smoothly. Orsic got two more chances for a goal in the game before half-time but ended up in vain. Despite having maximum control over possession, Chelsea could not make one into the nets. The Blues tried for a late equalizer however none made a mark. Chelsea is lo0sing their opening game in the Champions League for the third time.
Dinamo Zagreb has become the second team after Juventus to defeat four different teams from London in European competitions. Apart from Chelsea, Zagreb has previously beat Arsenal, Tottenham, and West Ham. Zagreb is the only Croatian side to compete in UEFA Champions League more than once. The team now became the first Croatian side to defeat two English sides in the competition (Arsenal in September 2015).
Chelsea’s next fixture is against R.B Salzburg on 15th September at Stamford Bridge. On the other hand, Dinamo Zagreb ties up their boots against Milan on the 14th of September at San Siro. In the other 10:15 IST match, Dortmund defeated Copenhagen 3-0 to go atop their group. Marco Reus, Rapahel Guerreiro, and Jude Bellingham scored for Dortmund.
