Chelsea interested in Amadou Onana
Following a solid debut season at Everton, Amadou Onana is being considered by Chelsea as one of Mauricio Pochettino’s prospective midfield possibilities. The 21-year-old Belgian international made 35 appearances for the team in his debut season after moving to the Toffees for £34 million last summer from Lille. However, Everton is facing severe financial difficulties, which can force them to trade him after just one season on the Merseyside.
Kepa remains number one for Chelsea.
While Andre Onana of Inter Milan has been extensively linked to a transfer to Chelsea, new Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino wants incumbent No. 1 Kepa Arrizabalaga to preserve his spot in the starting lineup. Edouard Mendy, a fellow custodian, will be permitted to leave the team if a good offer comes in, but Chelsea has more important recruitment goals than locating a new starting shot-stopper.
Chelsea declines Man United’s £40 million Mount offer.
As the two Premier League teams begin a deadlock for the England midfielder, Chelsea has rejected Manchester United’s first offer of £40 million. The contract for the 24-year-old, who is among the lowest-paid Chelsea first-team players, expires in June 2024, and the Red Devils are apparently sure that he won’t sign a new deal to stay at Stamford Bridge. Despite the enormous disparity in values between the two competitors, the Blues are willing to continue talks.
Chelsea was willing to compete for Caicedo’s services.
Juventus want at least 80 million euros (£68 million) for Dusan Vlahovic, but Chelsea have told the Italians they can choose between five players in a trade deal for the Serbia striker, 23, and have told Chelsea they are willing to match any bid Arsenal make for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo. Bayern Munich is also considering a possible move for the Ecuadorian midfielder.
