Messi Left Ronaldo behind for scoring most World Cup goals

Messi Surpassed Ronaldo on yet another front in the same game after scoring his third goal in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup during the Round of 16 encounters against Australia. The PSG forward surpassed Ronaldo’s eight World Cup goals by scoring his ninth overall.

Messi defeated Australian goalkeeper Mathew Ryan by striking the ball with his left foot from inside the box to give Argentina the lead over the Socceroos. In the 35th minute, the ball reached the bottom left corner of the goal.

They tied Messi for first place in the race for the Golden Boot with France’s Kylian Mbappe, England’s Marcus Rashford, and Cody Gakpo of the Netherlands. Enter Valencia, the captain of Ecuador, who also has three goals, but he will be unable to add to his total because they have eliminated La Tri. Messi, though, is the only player who, at the age of 39, is still capable of performing at a high level.

He’ll be keeping an eye on a handful of Ronaldo’s Champions League records whenever he gets back to PSG. To tie the record for most assists (42) and successful penalties taken by a player in the Champions League, Messi needs to make two more assists and take one more penalty (19).
