Cameroon football team has a rich and varied history at the FIFA World Cup. They first qualified for the tournament in 1982 and made it all the way to the quarter-finals before being knocked out by eventual champion Italy. In 1990, they became the first African team to reach the World Cup Semi-finals, where they lost to England in a dramatic match that saw Cameroon’s star player Roger Milla score twice.

Since then, Cameroon football has had some ups and downs at the World Cup. The theft failed to qualify for the tournament in 1994 but came back strong in 1998 with a team that included legendary striker Samuel Eto’o. They reached the knockout stage of the tournament again in 2022 and 2010 but were unable to progress any further. 

In 2014, Cameroon made headlines for all the wrong reasons when their players went on strike during a group-stage match against Croatia. They eliminated Cameroon from the tournament as a result, and they banned their captain from playing international football for six months.

Looking to the future, Cameroon will be hoping to put their recent troubles behind them and make a strong showing at this year’s World Cup in Qatar. With a talented squad including Joel Matip, Vincent Aboubakar, and Eric Choupo-Moting, they will be looking to make history again and go far in the competition. 

Cameroon’s present and past FIFA history are quite impressive. They are the only African team to have reached the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup, which they did so in 1990. They also hold the record for the most goals scored by an African team at a FIFA World Cup, with 16 goals in 2022. In recent years, Cameroon has not fared as well at the FIFA World Cup, but they still remain one of Africa’s top teams.

The purchasers have to buy tickets as soon as the phase opens as tickets will sell out quickly. Groups

Cameroon is in Group G and will go against Switzerland, Serbia, and Brazil. Interesting team with a good FIFA record, but facing such teams will be a monumental challenge for them to face. Facing Brazil and Switzerland will be an actual test for them, but Serbia can be a team where they can be the dominator.
