India’s tour of Bangladesh commenced on the 4th of December in Dhaka. Team India, captained by Rohit Sharma has reached Bangladesh ahead of the ODI series. The Shere Bangla National Stadium has field dimensions of 186 m X 136 m. Originally, the stadium was designed to host football matches and was consequently shaped rectangular. However, it was later remodeled into a circular shape to suit cricket games. Moreover, the ground was dug up to remove red clay and install a proper drainage facility here. Now, the stadium sports one of the best drainage systems in the country, and the ground suits cricket games perfectly.

The pitch here at Shere Bangla Stadium is known to be batting-friendly. The track offers next to nothing to the seamers. However, spinners do achieve some turn here. Moreover, the pitch slows down a pit towards the latter part of the innings. However, overall the pitch majorly favors batters in both innings.
