Recently, Yuzvendra Chahal shared a sensational anecdote about his days in the MI camp back in 2011-13. The leg-spin wizard disclosed how he was dangled from the 15th floor of the team hotel in 2013 by a fellow ‘drunk’ MI teammate. Chahal however, refused to reveal the player’s name. The shocking incident broke the internet as netizens stressed how team management must keep a strict vigil on proceedings so that franchisees can avoid such horrific episodes in the future.
The 31-year old cricketer had previously divulged another appalling episode of physical harassment during his MI days in the RCB Podcast. The incident happened back in 2011 when Andrew Symonds and James Franklin tied his legs and hands alongside taping his mouth and left him in that state for the rest of the night.
“It happened in 2011, when Mumbai Indians won the Champions League. We were in Chennai. He [Symonds] had had a lot of ‘fruit juice’. “I don’t know what he was thinking, but he and James Franklin got together and tied my hands and legs and said, ‘no, you’ve to open’. They were so lost that they taped my mouth and forgot about me completely during the party. Then they all left and, in the morning, someone came to clean [the room] and saw me, and called a few others and untied me,”

“We are aware,” says Durham, will talk privately with Coach Franklin
Former Kiwi allrounder James Franklin currently coaches the English county side Durham. The club formally issued a statement. They said that recent reports about a key member of their team staff have come to their attention. The officials added that they will definitely have a private talk with the concerned individual in order to assess the chain of incidents.
“We are aware of recent news reports surrounding an incident in 2011 which name a member of our staff. As with any matters involving employees, the club will speak privately with all parties involved to determine the facts.”

Chahal further mentioned that none of the cricketers ever apologized for their actions. The stories shared by Chahal drew a lot of flak from Twitterati. Veteran cricketers like Virender Sehwag and Ravi Shastri strongly decried the act. Few even demanded strict penalties to be brought in by the BCCI.
