IPL Sponsor List: Know every sponsor in the Indian Premier League history

The Indian Premier League is one of the biggest sports leagues in the world. Undoubtedly, it stands as the biggest cricket league in the world. This concludes that there is always a war for its sponsorship. We often find bidding wars for sponsorship of big sports leagues, and the IPL is one of a kind. So, let us look at the IPL sponsor list.

IPL Sponsor List

So far, the Indian Premier League has had five different sponsors. The Tata Group is sponsoring the IPL, which will continue until 2028. Before that, let us look at the list.

  1. DLF IPL (2008-2012)
  2. Pepsi IPL (2013-2015)
  3. Vivo IPL (2016-2021)
  4. Dream11 IPL (2020)
  5. TATA IPL (2022-2028)

The TATA Group has successfully retained the IPL title sponsorship rights for the next five years. The Aditya Birla Group had bid 2500 crores (500 crores each season) and was close to sponsoring the IPL. For the next five years, the IPL would have been called the Aditya Birla IPL, but the TATA sons matched the same bid and got the sponsorship deal.

IPL offers an advantage to the previous title sponsors to match the bid if they want to continue and decide to continue.

Before them, DLF sponsored the IPL from 2008 to 2012, Pepsi sponsored the IPL from 2013 to 2015, Vivo sponsored the IPL from 2016 to 2021, Dream11 sponsored the IPL in 2020, and Tata will sponsor the IPL from 2022 until 2028.
