ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year: Six Indian cricketers, including one as a captain

The year 2024 for cricket fans was a year of ODI. Almost every cricketing nation played one-day internationals as the ODI World Cup was set to be played in October. The Australian cricket team lifted the World Cup, but several players shined throughout the season. If we had looked at the ODI World Cup Team of the tournament, only two players from the Australian side made their place. This also brings to the ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year. So, let us look at the 11 players who made their way onto the team.

The Indian cricket team captain, Rohit Sharma, is selected as the leader of the team. Moreover, his opening pair, Shubman Gill, is also part of the team. Not just him, but four more Indian cricketers, i.e., Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohammed Shami, are on the team.

Interestingly, only two players are from the Australian cricket team, i.e., Travis Head and Adam Zampa. The rest of the team includes Daryl Mitchell from New Zealand and Marco Jansen and Henrich Klaasen from South Africa.

No players from England, Sri Lanka, or Pakistan have found a place on the team.
