IPL Orange Cap Winners List
Over the years, IPL has given 13 different orange cap winners. Among these orange-cap winners, six are Indian, and seven are foreign players.
Moreover, two players have won the orange cap multiple times. The first is David Warner, who has won the Orange Cap thrice (in 2015, 2017, and 2019), and the second is Chris Gayle, who has won it twice (in 2011 and 2012). Gayle is also the only player to win the cap back-to-back.
The first-ever orange cap winner is former Punjab Kings batter Shaun Marsh. Whereas, the first Indian cricketer to win the orange cap was Sachin Tendulkar in 2010. He represented the Mumbai Indians and scored 618 runs.
Regarding the highest run scorer in an IPL season, Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Virat Kohli holds the record. He scored 973 runs during the 2016 season, when they ended runner-up.
