Ranking the Best Spin Attack of the IPL 2024 Teams
S Tier (Best)
1. Chennai Super Kings
- Ravindra Jadeja
- Mitchell Santner ($)
- Moeen Ali ($)
- Rachin Ravindra ($)
- Maheesh Theekshana ($)
Undoubtedly, the Chennai Super Kings have one of the best spin bowlers’ lineups. Moreover, their home ground helps spin bowlers extract the turn from the pitch. Last year, we saw spin bowlers bowl almost 60% of the overs and pick crucial wickets.
2. Kolkata Knight Riders
- Anukul Roy
- Sunil Narine ($)
- Suyash Sharma
- Varun Chakaravarthy
- Mujeeb ur Rahman ($)
Just like Chennai, the Kolkata Knight Riders also have one of the best spin attacks. Their trio of Sunil Narine, Suyash Sharma, and Varun Chakaravarthy was lethal last season. They shared at least four wickets among them per game.
3. Gujarat Titans
- Jayant Yadav
- Rahul Tewatia
- Noor Ahmad ($)
- Sai Kishore
- Rashid Khan ($)
The Gujarat Titans also have one of the best spin-bowling lineups. Last season, Rashid Khan was the third-highest wicket-taker and loved to bowl in Indian conditions. He also has great partners in the form of Sai Kishore, Noor Ahmad, and Rahul Tewatia.
4. Lucknow Super Giants
- Krunal Pandya
- Deepak Hooda
- Krishnappa Gowtham
- Ravi Bishnoi
- Amit Mishra
The last team in the S-tier is the Lucknow Super Giants. Lucknow Spinner was the most economical bowler last season.
Ravi Bishnoi led the charge by taking wickets, Krunal Pandya was economical, and Amit Mishra did both. Moreover, Lucknow had a ranked turner, which helped them stand out as one of the best.

A Tier (Good)
1. Sunrisers Hyderabad
- Glenn Phillips ($)
- Wanindu Hasaranga ($)
- Shahbaz Ahamad
- Abhishek Sharma
- Washington Sundar
- Mayank Markande
Hyderabad has a great spin bowling line-up, but their performances have lifted. Last year, they finished at the bottom, and spinners were one of the reasons. This year, the team has a great line-up and can perform well.
2. Rajasthan Royals
- Riyan Parag
- Ravi Ashwin
- Yuzvendra Chahal
- Adam Zampa ($)
The reason you, the Rajasthan Royals, are in the ‘A’ tier is because of backups. The team heavily relies on Ashwin and Chahal. Moreover, last season, both players didn’t have a great run compared to the 2022 season. Moreover, during home games, they had to play Adam Zampa, which weakened their batting lineup.
3. Delhi Capitals
- Axar Patel
- Lalit Yadav
- Kuldeep Yadav
- Praveen Dubey
The Delhi Capitals spin bowlers were one of the most economical in the last season. But the only problem was not picking wickets. Though they were economical and created pressure on the batter, wickets weren’t on their side. Moreover, with changes to their home ground, this season might be difficult for them.

B Tier (Average)
1. Mumbai Indians
- Mohammed Nabi ($)
- Shams Mulani
- Shreyas Gopal
- Kumar Kartikeya
- Piyush Chawla
Undoubtedly, the Mumbai Indians don’t have a good spin attack. Last season, Piyush Chawla was incredible and picked up over 20 wickets. But he didn’t have a proper partner who could do the same on the other side. Moreover, they have an inexperienced spin line-up.
2. Royal Challengers Bangalore
- Glenn Maxwell ($)
- Will Jacks ($)
- Mahipal Lomror
- Karn Sharma
Followed by the Mumbai Indians are the Royal Challengers Bangalore. They don’t have proper wicket-taking and pressure-creating spinners. Also, their spin bowler’s economy was around 11 last season.
3. Punjab Kings
- Sikandar Raza ($)
- Liam Livingstone ($)
- Harpreet Brar
- Rahul Chahar
Similarly, the Punjab Kings also have an average-spin line-up. Last season, their spin bowlers leaked runs consistently and cost games. This year, they have the same line-up and need to step up if they want to qualify.
