The Ireland Men’s Cricket Team has qualified for the ICC T20I World Cup 2024 after the abandonment of the game against Germany.
The Irish have won four of their previous games – which meant that they required just a single win to ensure their qualification for the tournament in USA and West Indies. They defeated Italy, Denmark, Austria, and Jersey earlier. Nevertheless, the Irish still have a game left in the league against Scotland.
The Irish have currently accumulated 9 points in 5 games. Amongst the remaining teams, only Scotland has a chance to overcome the Irish in the points table. The top 2 will qualify for the ICC T20I World Cup 2024 from Europe, meaning The Shamrocks are gonna be there.
The ICC T20I World Cup will feature 20 teams, five groups of four. Excluding Ireland, Twelve teams have qualified for the World Cup. USA and West Indies qualified as hosts alongside the Top 8 sides from 2022 ICC T20I World Cup. Pakistan and Bangladesh qualified as the top ranked unqualified teams.
The rest are two teams each from Asia and Africa, one from East Asia and America’s. The remaining one slot will either be Scotland or Italy from the Europe Qualifiers. Also Read: Vitality T20 Blast: Compiled List Of Winners Of All 21 Seasons
