His professional career started when he made his NHL debut with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2017 and scored his first goal against Montreal Canadians. For the Blackhawks, DeBrincat scored 160 goals and 307 points in 368 games.
After a poor 2021-22 NHL season, the Blackhawks traded DeBrincat to his present team Ottawa Senators.
