Solihull: Singaporean team of Tianwei Feng, Jian Zeng, Xin Ru Wong and Jingyi Zhou beat the Malaysians to clinch Gold in Women’s Table Tennis. Singapore have been the best team in Table Tennis from the inception in 2002 except for 2018. The Singaporean men are in semifinals with a final on Day 5.
Singaporeans left no mercy. They defeated Malaysia with a straight 3-0 set. Jingyi Xhou and Jian Zeng started off teh gold chase with a 3-1 win agaisnt Karen Lyne and Ying Ho. Tianwei feng extended the lead by a straight win against Li Sian Alice Chang in the first singles match. Jian overpowered once again by defeating Ying Ho by a margin of 3-1 to give them the gold.

The Singaporeans have literally cruised through the event. They defeated host England, Nigeria, Vincent and Grenadines, Guyana and Australia to reach the finals. Interestingly, they never dropped a single match.
“I’m very pleased to see that this team, they’re able to display such exceptional performances. Not just in performing, but being very thorough in their preparations as well. I hope, leading up to the individual events, they are able to display the same type of spirit and do well in the individual events.” Tianwei added after the victory.
Australia defeated Wales to clinch the bronze in the category. This medal is Singapore’s second medal of the Games. Tsong Tsen Wei won the 50m Men backstroke on Saturday.
