As a child of Tennis coaches, he started playing tennis at the age of 6 along with his brother, Moritz Thiem. He suffered from several health issues in 2011 but didn’t let them overtake his ambitions and determination toward his dreams.
Starting his career at an early age, he managed to win the 2011 Orange Bowl and won his first ATP title in the 2015 France Open as a professional player. He reached the finals of the 2018 French Opens, 2019 French Opens, 2020 Australian Open, 2019 ATP finals, and 2020 ATP finals.
