The Clarets will be in English top flight next season
Burnley will return to the English top flight, as they have sealed promotion back to the Premier League. The Clarets were relegated last year, falling 3 points behind Leeds after surviving 6 years in the Premier League.
Just over 10 months after the Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany was appointed as Burnley boss, the Clarets have secured their promotion back to the premier League for the 2024-2024 season after beating Middlesbrough 2-1 at the Riverside.

The Clarets went into the match knowing that a victory would secure their promotion. Ashley Barnes scored the opener in the 12th minute, while 3 minutes into the second half Chuba Akpom equalised from the spot, Connor Roberts was the hero of the day as he headed the winner 6 minutes past the hour mark guaranteeing their promotion.
Burnley have deservedly earned promotion to the Premier League following a remarkable season under Vincent Kompany and are favourites to win the championship. The Clarets currently sits at the top of the table with 87 points from 39 championship matches,11 points above second place Sheffield United, they have only lost twice this season and their last defeat came against Sheffield in November.
Folowing the win Kompany said : “I’m pleased and happy for the players. It’s a very special feeling, we have made memories today, We still don’t have the silverware, but we have made memories. There is already one milestone that has been achieved, and one achievement that cannot be taken away from us, I am really happy for the club and for everybody involved. This is special. I still have to say that the best moment will be if we get the trophy, and that is not the case yet.”

Vincent Kompany’s men may well breach the 100 points barrier and might be first team to go unbeaten at home since New castle in 2009-2010 season.
