Mumbai Indians have signed Uttrakhand pacer Akash Madhwal as a replacement for Suryakumar Yadav who was ruled out of the IPL owing to a left forearm muscle injury.
Madhawal is a 28-year-old medium pace bowler from Uttarakhand, who has played 15 T20Is and taken 15 wickets at an average of 26.60, has been included in the team by Mumbai for 20 lakhs. Mumbai Indians have only 2 matches left this season.
Akash was chosen at the MI preseason camp to join the support team as a net bowler and has over the months demonstrated his ability with the ball, earning him the opportunity to join the seasoned squad.
In the 12 matches played so far, Mumbai has lost 9 matches. This season the batsmen of Mumbai completely flopped. Suryakumar was the only batsman in form this season. Suryakumar played 8 matches and managed to score 303 runs at an average of 43.29 with three half-centuries. Mumbai Indians are in the last position in the points table of 10 teams.

Mumbai Indians miserable season nears its end
