Sevilla has been struggling this season with a weak defense and major holes in the whole dynamic of the team. The fates of a nervous outing in 2022/23 haven’t left them yet, where relegation loomed over far more than expected for the champion Europa League franchise.
Albeit a lot of pressure from Las Palmas, Dodi Lukebakio, yet another debutant for Sevilla found the net in the 71st minute. Thanks to a header by En Neysri, The Belgian stole their limelight and steered them to a win.
The victory has handed the Rojiblancos three golden points, lifting them from the 20th spot on the table. Sevilla, for the time being, are not in the red zone. Las Palmas, on the other hand, is pushed one more position down to the 19th.
Despite the victory, The Men under Jose Mendilibar will have to revisit the game and rectify their strategies as they start their Champions League journey on Thursday. Sevilla will be locking horns against the Ligue 1 runners-up Lens in Group B. In addition to Sevilla, The group also has Arsenal and PSV Eindhoven.
