The tennis universe was shocked as Novak Djokovic lost against Luca Nardi in the round-of-32 match at the Indian Wells Open. It was a shocker as Nardi, who ranks over 100, outperformed the No. 1 ranked player.
Luca Nardi defeated Djokovic 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 and will play against Tommy Paul in the round of 16. When Nardi was asked about his feelings about defeating Djokovic, he said, “I think this is a miracle! I am a 20-year-old guy, 100 in the world, and beating Novak is unbelievable.”
When Novak Djokovic was asked about his horrifying loss at the Indian Wells Open, he said:
“Very poor performance from my side. No titles this year. That is not something I am used to.”

Novak Djokovic 2024 Season (so far)
Novak Djokovic has yet to win a title this ATP season. He began his 2024 season journey with the United Cup, then the Australian Open, followed by the Indian Wells. In all these three competitions, he has faced defeats, and all three have come against different opponents.
- The first defeat was at the United Cup 2024 qualifying game against Alex de Minaur by 4-6, 4-6.
- Second defeat was at the Australian Open 2024 semifinal against Jannik Sinner by 1-6, 2-6, 7-6, 3-6.
- Third defeat was at the Indian Wells Open 2024 round of 32 against Luca Nardi by 4-6, 6-3, 3-6.
Djokovic is having a tough outing and has a record of 8-3. We are in the third month of the year, and the World No. 1 player has yet to win a title. This has also raised concerns about the chances of Djokovic winning a Grand Slam title this season.
