Chris Evert becomes a victim of an April Fool’s prank featuring Carlos Alcaraz

On 1st April, former World No.1 Chris Evert became a victim of a US Open’s April Fool’s prank. In the post featuring Carlos Alcaraz, it stated that players can take help from artificial intelligence during their matches at the US Open this year.

On the post, there was a picture of World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz and a graphic to announce the rule with the caption: “Welcome to the future“.

Inside the picture under the ‘Breaking News‘ these words were written: “Players will be permitted to use Artificially Intelligence (AI) coaching at the 2024 US Open.”

Croatian professional Donna Vekic also commented on Evert’s post saying: “It’s April fools, I also fell for it,” Vekik wrote on Twitter.

Rennae Stubbs, the former coach of Serena Williams tagged Evert and Vekic and wrote: “Ladies!!!” and ended the post with three laughing emoticons.

Jannik Sinner knocked out Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals of the Miami Open

Carlos Alcaraz, after winning the Indian Wells 2024 by beating Daniil Medvedev in the final, was eyeing a rare Sunshine Double. But his advance to the Miami Open 2024 final was stopped by Jannik Sinner who defeated the teenager 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-2. Now Sinner will face Medvedev in the final today after clinching two titles this season- Montpellier Open and the Rotterdam Open.

“It was [an] unbelievable point. When I lost that point, the first that came to my mind is like, ‘He’s unbeatable, this guy,” the Spaniard said after the loss.
