World number 3, Alexander Zverev was playing some amazing tennis, giving a tough fight to King of Clay, Rafael Nadal in their Semi-Final encounter at the French Open. After losing the 1st set in a tiebreak, he was leading the 2nd set 6-5 (30-40).
However luck wasn’t on his side, and he twisted his leg badly during the rally. Zverev laid down on the court screaming in pain. The medical staff came and took him off the court in a wheelchair. The crowd was in full support of Zverev and gave him a long-standing ovation for the tennis he was playing against the world’s best.
After the match, Zverev came out in clutches to officially retire from the match and thank the fans for their support.
The extent of the injury is still unknown but the way it looked, Zverev will be out of action for months now.
