The Philadelphia Flyers have unveiled their new jersey after teasing around the same for a bit too long. The jersey brings back the ‘burnt orange’ shade that the Flyers donned from 1984 to 2007.
The new jersey features wider shoulder and sleeve stripes, single-colored sleeve numbers (black on the home uniform, white on the road uniform), and a black bottom stripe. These visual nods to the 1987 jersey have been already dubbed as “New Era of Orange”. The jersey change is the first in the Flyers’ history since 2010.
Philadelphia Flyers adopt a first-in-franchise history feature
The Flyers have also added a home jersey patch – for the first-ever time in Flyers history. The jerseys are branded with the Independence Blue Cross, the leading health insurer in South Pennsylvania.
Independence Blue Cross will place its logo on the right chest of all Flyers home sweaters, as well as the third alternate jersey. The organization will showcase the logo through team platforms and television broadcasts. Furthermore, Independence Blue Cross will become the presenting sponsor for a social media series on Flyers channels that focuses on nutrition and healthy eating. As part of the deal, the Flyers management will announce special single-game discounts for Independence Blue Cross members at a later date. Also Read: Barcelona Completes Gavi La Liga Registration
