Harrison Butker sets Super Bowl History with the Longest Field Goal

Harrison Butker rewrote the history in the same game.

In the early minutes of 2nd quarter, Jake Moody scored a 55-yarder, thereby making the longest field goal in Super Bowl History.

However, The milestone didn’t remain in the same hands for too long. Harrison Butker scored a 57-yarder in the second half of the game to revive the Chiefs.

The SuperBowl LVIII is definitely one for the ages.

Moody broke a 30-year record set by former Bills kicker Steve Christie. Steve’s 54-yarder came in the Super Bowl XXVII against the Cowboys. The Cowboys beat the Bills that game 30-13.

The all-time record for the longest field kick in NFL history is 66 yards. Justin Tucker of Baltimore Ravens holds this record since 2021. However, the longest field kick this season went to Eagles’ Jake Elliott’s 61-yarder.

Harrison Butker, a seventh round pick in the 2017 Draft, is a two time Super Bowl Champ. He also led the NFL in scoring in 2019. On the other hand, Jake Moody is a rookie drafted out of Michigan in 2023 by the Niners.
