Chris Paul has enormous retirement plans. It’s safe to urge he’s seeing the greatest image of what a NBA star could imagine. The veteran point guard has done an outstanding job in the league, establishing himself as one of the best players at his position and leaving a lasting impression wherever he goes.
If he had that type of influence as a player, influence he could have as an executive is even larger. Though Michael Jordan shows this isn’t the case, Paul feels optimistic about his potential as an executive.
The 37-year-old athlete is still battling at the highest level in the game. He’s helping the Phoenix Suns become one of the greatest teams in the league. But he’s also thinking about life when he retires. Finally, revealing what he hopes to do after his playing career is finished.
Almost every professional athlete considers their future plans after they remove their jersey. LeBron James expressed his desire to purchase an NBA club in Las Vegas earlier this year. Chris Paul claimed during a sit-down interview at the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Summit that whenever he retires, he wants to buy an NBA club.

Chris Paul on his life after the NBA
Paul said “I would like to be a part of an ownership group after I’m done playing.” While discussing the NBA, Paul shared his experience of joining the league’s executive committee to study the business side of things rather than simply being a player.
Then, in 2013, he was elected president of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA). He was elected and served two four-year terms after that. During his tenure, he was instrumental in increasing the number of players registered to vote in the NBA Bubble from 35% to over 98.
Paul’s major focus has been schooling in between chasing his passion after retirement. Everyone has a personal story about how they discovered Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Whether it was while applying to colleges or because a long line of family members attended one.
Paul, on the other hand, took a somewhat different approach to learning more about the institutions. As a young student-athlete, Paul admitted that his awareness of HBCUs was limited. His fascination began when he was in the process of shifting from high school to college.
Lebron James has similar interests as his best friend Chris Paul. Some speculate that he may become the owner of a Las Vegas expansion franchise. But nothing has been confirmed. We can picture the two closest friends partnering to buy a business, yet they’re still going strong and dominating the game. Things may change as they begin to slow down, and this dynamic combo may join Michael Jordan as former players who own a team.
