Over the past two seasons, the Red Bull Racing team has passed with flying colors in Formula 1. Their driver, Max Verstappen, won the driver championships in 2022 and 2024. Likewise, they also won the constructors championship in 2022 and 2024. On the other hand, other teams have remained quiet, especially the Mercedes F1 team. Recently, in an interview with Sky Sports, the principal of Red Bull, Christian Horner, said Mercedes is surely planning something.
Christian Horner said,
“Obviously, we haven’t seen much of him in the last couple of years, but I’m sure Wolff is plotting.”
He further concluded by saying, I am sure he has something that they are working on. We will definitely see them shine in the upcoming season.

Mercedes Performance since 2014
The Mercedes F1 team has dominated every championship since 2014, which came to an end in 2021 after Max Verstappen won the driver championship in the historic Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Over the years, Lewis Hamilton won six championships, and Nico Rosberg won one championship with them. Whereas, all eight constructor championships from 2014 to 2021 were won by Mercedes.
They won a total of 111 Grand Prix collectively, out of which 81 were won by Lewis Hamilton. But in the past two seasons, they won only one Grand Prix, which was by George Russell and not Lewis Hamilton. Moreover, they have lost both championships and have failed to compete against Red Bull.

Well, it is not to blame the driver but the car as well. Compared to Red Bull, they have underperformed, which has been one of the main reasons for their downfall.
Will their car in the next season be as strong as Red Bull? Can they get their Champion crown back by dethroning the Red Bull? For that, we will have to wait and see how the upcoming races and next season go.
