This F1 season is a season of redemption for several drivers. The entire grid, except a few drivers, will be out of contract at the end of the season. Carlos Sainz, Fernando Alonso, and Daniel Ricciardo are some of them who might not be seen racing for the same team in the 2025 season. Similarly, we might see Sergio Perez race for a different team in the upcoming season.
Among all these dramas, Red Bull F1 team director and driver development program Helmut Marko released a statement on Sergio Perez’s seat for the 2025 season.
Helmut Marko said:
“If Sergio Perez comes in second in the World Championship and gets one or two wins, he will certainly be a contender for 2024.”
Here is the complete statement:
“Checo must deliver consistent performances. It is clear that he can’t always drive at Verstappen’s level. If Sergio Perez comes in second in the World Championship and gets one or two wins, he will certainly be a contender for 2024.”

Can Sergio Perez secure his Red Bull seat for the 2025 season?
Last season, Perez was one of the most inconsistent performers in the qualifying sessions. But when it came to races, he was one of the best drivers on the grid. But after Max Verstappen.
No one could match the consistency and performances of Max Verstappen. Only Perez challenged him at the start of the season by winning two Grand Prix and matched the same number of points.
But the start of the 2024 season for Sergio Perez has been impressive. He started fifth in the Bahrain Grand Prix and finished second. He got a podium finish and made the statement that he deserves the Red Bull seat.
If Perez performs consistently, as he did in the Bahrain Grand Prix, he will surely secure his Red Bull seat for the 2025 season.

We can see that Sergio Perez’s last season was not the worst but the best in his F1 career. One of the most interesting facts is that Max Verstappen was only challenged by Perez for the F1 World Championship.
No other drivers on the grid were even closer to Max Verstappen than Checo. He truly deserves the Red Bull F1 team seat, and no one can replace him on the team.
