The 2024 season has been full of drama for the Red Bull F1 team. First, it was the drastic changes on the car, then the allegations against Christian Horner, then questions about Sergio Perez’s future at Red Bull, and then Max Verstappen’s rumors of leaving Red Bull. Only two races of the season are complete, and things have gotten more interesting.
The rumors of Max’s move to Mercedes were put to an end within days, as Max said, ‘He has no plans of leaving Red Bull.’ Apart from him, many rumors of Sergio Perez being linked to Mercedes surfaced on social media a few weeks ago. This has brought some uncertainties between the team and its drivers.
While all this has been happening, Christian Horner released a controversial statement on both Red Bull drivers’ seats.
Christian Horner said:
“It is like anything in life; you can’t force somebody to be somewhere just because of a piece of paper.”

Here is the complete statement:
“It is like anything in life; you can’t force somebody to be somewhere just because of a piece of paper. If somebody didn’t want to be on this team, then we are not going to force somebody against their will to be here.”
“No individual is bigger than the team, and we have a phenomenal car. We have one seat open for next year, and I have probably got 16 drivers desperate to be in that car next year.”

This means either Sergio Perez or Max Verstappen might be out of the team by the end of the season. Mostly, the driver finding his seat in a Red Bull will be in the place of Sergio Perez. No team in the world at the moment would like to leave a driver like Max Verstappen.
