Over the past few years, UFC fans have lightened up after Conor McGregor announced he would be back in the UFC. His last fight in the UFC was on July 10, 2021, during the UFC 264 event. He fought against Dustin Poirier, and this was their rematch fight after McGregor’s loss against him during the UFC 257 event.
Since then, Conor McGregor hasn’t competed in the UFC, and now, as per sources, he will fight for the UFC 300 match card. It is rumored that he will be facing Dustin Poirier, and this is going to be their fourth fight in UFC history. Listening to that, Poirier was quick to respond and said,
Dustin Poirier said,
“I would shut him (McGregor) once and for all.”
As of now, McGregor vs Poirier has happened on three different occasions in the UFC ring. For the first time, it was at the UFC 178 event, when McGregor defeated Poirier. The second time was at the UFC 257 event when Poirier took his revenge by defeating McGregor. The third time was at the UFC 264 event when the match ended on Poirier’s side after a doctor’s stoppage.
If we go into the tally of stats, Poirier leads the battle, and if we go into a perfect match, the scores stand at 1-1. If this fight happens, it will be one of the highest-grossing events for the UFC in recent times.
But it may take time because Poirier was set to fight against Chandler, and both fighters are ready to have a rematch. As of now, the fight is yet to be official, and let’s hope we get the McGregor vs Poirier fight on the match card as soon as possible.
